Meet Alyn

Hi, I’m Alyn, (pronounced like /alin/ phonetically or uh-lynn). My pronouns are she/her and they/them. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate serving folks in person, at my office in Ballard, and the State of Washington by telehealth.

I move through the world with a lot of curiosity. I pay attention to the small moments that give a day meaning and the deeper threads that shape a person's story. People often tell me they feel seen around me, even in the parts they usually keep tucked away. That matters to me. In my work, slowing down and listening closely is just as important as the words spoken to each other.

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by a mix of lived experience, a steady sense of justice, and a belief that everyone deserves to feel understood. I know what it's like to navigate transitions and to move through life in ways that don't always match the usual mold. Those pieces help me meet people in their inherent complexity with patience and nuance. I care about creating a space where you don't have to edit yourself to be taken seriously or treated with care.

Outside of work, I stay connected to the things that help me feel grounded. I spend time on the water, wander through the trees, and love conversations that go a little deeper than the surface. Music, a warm drink, and a cozy meal with the people I care about fill my cup. These moments remind me of what matters, and they shape the way I show up as a therapist, with patience, openness, and genuine investment in the process.
